Weekly Gratitude: Mama Said Tees

I am probably getting a little bit annoying with how much I am OBSESSED with my internship this summer…but that’s just because it may be the best thing I have ever done. I am all about creating opportunities for yourself in whatever form that may be. More specifically than the internship itself may be my two BAD ASS bosses Colleen & Colleen (or better known as CS & CB). I can’t even begin to explain the love and passion that they have for this business. They radiate kindness and positivity and make me smile more times a day than I can count. This weekend we are at the Cincinnati Baby Expo and I am having the time of my life. They have taught me so so much about what it not only takes to run a business, but to be a good sister, daughter, wife and mother. It is incredible to simply see them interact with all of the customers who walk by our booth. I am so grateful for them for this opportunity of a lifetime and I cannot wait to see how far this company goes. There is so much more to Mama Said Tees than tee shirts and hoodies. It is about such a greater purpose. A company that stands for kindness, love and equality? Who wouldn’t want to be a part of something like that?! I feel like the luckiest girl on the PLANET!!! So thank you Colleen & Colleen for being the COOLEST role models and friends a girl could have.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul 2017

Anyone who knows me can tell you my somewhat unhealthy obsession with Nordstrom. It is my favorite place to shop, hands down. That being said, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is one of the most exciting times of the year. If you are a Nordstrom card holder, which my family is, you get to shop the deals even EARLIER in the early access days before the actual sale starts days after. This is a HUGE advantage because a majority of the merchandise is completely gone during those early access days and it is not restocked for the public. Some of these items I bought for my upcoming sorority recruitment! Here are a few purchases I made this year during those precious early access days:

I have found this first top to be a very flattering style for my body type. I love the ruffles and the simple blush color. And for only $45 who could pass that up?FullSizeRender.jpg-2

This item is a little more out of my comfort zone. I typically stray from velvet of any kind especially something as vibrant as this blue. I thought this would be a fun accessory leading into the fall months heading back to school in the city.

These booties were one of my sorority recruitment necessities. My black booties were getting a little worn out so I was in need of a new pair anyways. Also, just a good staple to have in any wardrobe. fullsizeoutput_432cThis dress is another sorority item. Eliza J is BY FAR my absolute favorite dress brand. Eliza has never steered me wrong when it comes to any occasion where a dress is required. I have gotten all of my Easter dresses for the past three years as well as high school graduation from the Eliza J brand. These dresses (typically in the fit and flare style) are always super flattering on my body type.FullSizeRender.jpg-1

I have been looking for a good quality, oversized, distressed denim jacket for a while now and this one immediately caught my eye. I love the fit and wash of the denim and can’t wait to rock this look with some black skinny jeans and booties in the cooler months.

Now this last pair of shoes actually wasn’t on the anniversary sale but I figured should be included in my haul anyway. I have been on the hunt for a pair of white sneakers but didn’t want to go for the basic Adidas superstars or white converse. I thought this perforated look was definitely different and added something extra to the already simple shoe. fullsizeoutput_432b

UPDATED Makeup Routine

It has been about a YEAR since I did my last makeup routine! HOW?! So today I hought I would bring you my UPDATED current summer makeup routine. During the sweltering summer months I try to wear minimal makeup or none at all. I typically stick with lighter products that won’t instantly sweat off my skin the second I step outside. Some of these products are old, rediscovered favorites while others are new and I am loving them! Here is my go-to glowy summer makeup routine!

PRIMER: Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance

This is the first step to my routine. This primer helps your makeup stay put all day and leaves you “glowing from within.”

FACE PRODUCT: IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream

I’m really not sure how I didn’t start using this before I did. I used to shy away from liquid products in fear of them looking cakey, but this one is anything but that! While canceling out all of the discoloration it creates the most flawless and natural finish. P.S. I have discovered applying this with your hands makes it look even more natural

(I clearly am obsessed with this product solely based on the state of its packaging)

SETTING POWDER: Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

This is SUCH a good setting powder. I was nervous about the loose powder because let’s just be honest, that’s just a mess waiting to happen. But it works wonders. I use a wet real techniques beauty sponge (the orange one with the flat edge) to apply this all over my face and under my eyes.

CORRECTOR: Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light to Medium Bisque

This has been one of my LONG TIME faves. This is the perfect under eye concealer to cancel out under eye bags. It completely cancels out all of the darkness and makes you look more awake instantly.

CONCEALER: Benefit Boi~ing Airbrush Concealer in Light Medium

I got this for free with my latest Sephora purchase and I am obsessed. This super CREAMY concealer is perfect for spot treatment and any other problem areas.

BRONZER: Benefit Hoola Bronzer

This bronzer is a current favorite but also can be tricky and takes a good amount of blending. I love the color and natural warmth it gives my complexion. However, it is super pigmented and you need to use a light hand as well as blend blend blend!!!

BLUSH: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush

This blush is so so so natural. It is the perfect nudey pink to top off any look.

HIGHLIGHT: cargo_HD Picture Perfect Highlighter in Bronze

I have been trying out this highlighter recently after receiving it in my Summer 2017 FabFitFun box and boy oh boy do I love it! It is super duper pigmented and gives you the perfect bronzy glow.

MASCARA: Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara

This mascara is a STAPLE in my routine and has never failed me. It makes my lashes look longer and gives them more volume at the same time. I don’t know if I will ever switch.

BROWS: Shade “Naked” from the Urban Decay Naked Palette

After coloring my hair this summer and going a bit lighter I have switched to “Naked” in my trusty Urban Decay Naked Palette to fill in my brows.

20 things I’ve learned by 20

Today I am 20 years old. How is that possible? Because I’m not quite sure to be honest. These last few years have gone extremely fast but I am having the time of my life. I have an amazing group of friends, THE most supportive and loving family, an internship that has me jumping out of bed in the morning, and am loving college life in Chicago. Things really couldn’t be going better. I thought today I would share with you some things I have learned in my life so far that I don’t always listen to or follow but are things I find myself going back to time and time again. Here’s to another year full of many more blessings and lessons learned.

1. don’t take everything so seriously

2. create opportunities for yourself

3. you can never be too generous with your kindness

4. invest in people who invest in you

5. quality over quantity, every time

6. deep late night talks with friends are the best kind

7. always tell people you love them

8. you are entirely up to you

9. don’t worry about what people think

10. people change, and that’s okay

11. learn from your mistakes

12. never change yourself for someone else

13. meet as many people as you can and make connections

14. live beyond the “what if” mentality

15. things don’t always go according to plan

16. accept change, and grow from it

17. surround yourself with good, kind people

18. listen to your gut, it’s rarely wrong

19. people who want you in their lives will find a way to be in yours

20. be the person who wakes up with purpose and intent and put yourself at the top of your to-do list every single day

Have a good Sunday! XOXO Anna
